Great success of sales and visitors to the second edition of the Christmas Fair of Mallorca’s Almond

    For the president of the IGP, Miquel Riera, the success of this second fair “has begun its consolidation within the calendar of these dates in Palma”

    “This must encourage more and more companies and consumers to bet on the almond of Mallorca, of an incomparable quality,” he said

    The second edition of the Ametlla de Mallorca Christmas Fair closed with a sales success for the participants and with more than 10,000 people who passed this Saturday through the Paseo del Born in Palma. These were able to taste and buy authentic Mallorcan almonds and products made with this and typical Christmas, offered by the Regulating Council of the Protected Geographical Indication and different companies that work with Mallorcan almond IGP.

    Visitors were able to enjoy authentic almonds from Mallorca and many products made with it: nougat, nougat cakes, cats, chocolates, pastries… For the president of the Regulatory Council, Miquel Riera, this fair “has begun to consolidate within the calendar of these dates in Palma”, and believes that the great success in the first two editions “must encourage more and more companies and consumers to bet on the almond of Mallorca, of an incomparable quality”.

    In this second edition, ten companies participated in total: Almendras Capó, Ametlla+, ASCAIB, Bessó de Mallorca, Bon Bessó, Camp Mallorquí, Forn i Pastisseria Trias, Galletes Rossellons, Maüa Chocolates and Pastisseries Can Pomar. This year, in addition, for every 10 euros of purchase in any of the stands, the IGP Ametlla de Mallorca delivered a ballot to enter the draw for a Christmas basket valued at 300 euros.

    Finally, the IGP Ametlla de Mallorca also thanked the financial support of the Consell de Mallorca and the collaboration of the Palma City Council through Palma Activa to carry out the fair. In attendance were the insular director of Local Cooperation of the Consell de Mallorca, Juan Antonio Esteban; the councilor for Commerce, Markets and Fairs in Cort, Guadalupe Ferrer; or councilor og Food Quality and Local Products, Joan Llabrés, among others.
